A Hand For Lebanon
Lebanon is going through its hardest time ever in regards to its economic situation. A fact never encountered, even during its 30 years war time.
The church cannot stay aside in such a time. We have to do something to walk side by side with the needy and weary people. It’s not poverty. It’s Crisis. Real Crisis. People are forced to leave their jobs in thousands, while the burden of countless refugees is still very heavy on the Land and deeply affecting the employment of the locals.
Holy Spirit Church, New Rawda is raising funds to buy food portions to help families in need, those who have left their jobs, or being payed half or 30% or 20 % of their usual payments. It’s not just us, it’s the heart of the Lord towards those people. It’s the role of the people of God to Give a Hand to the weary, to stand with needy, and to have God’s love actually materialized.
It’s about time that many would see the light of the Lord shine in their darkness. It’s about time for you and me to have a share in this.
As a church, we want to be active in reaching out for our communities and responding to what is happening in our country.
It's not just food or supplies that we aim to give out. We want to show Jesus. If there is anyone that will save this country, get it out of the turbulence its in, and take it to a safe shore, it is Jesus and Him alone!
We will pack boxes that include the following essential items: Milk, Oil, Sugar, Rice, Noodles, Beans (Hummus, Lentils, Fava Beans), Tuna, Spaghetti, Olive Oil, Jam, Tahini, Halewe, Ghee, Canned Peas, Groats, Processed Meat, Processed Cheese, Detergents, Shampoo, Soap, Tissues.
Our offerings might include also blankets, clothes, electric heaters, and diesel. We want to be very transparent about this project. That’s why all donations received and all expenses will be shown in the balance sheet, that we will be sharing publicaly.
